FILMIC ARTWORK
The intangible omnipresent of the Icelandic Huldufólk (hidden ones) is explored in this short filmic piece.
The Huldufólk occupy a place of elusive but extant threat, linking the 12th to 15th Century Icelandic Sagas to the country’s formidable landscape and its contemporary usage. ‘Hindrun: threshold’ conceptually explores this idea of an otherworldly life source being embedded within a temporal landscape and offers a contemplative prose narrative on the uncanny in relation to science and enchantment.
An artist residency informed the work with creative contribution received from Anna Sigrídur Sigurjónsdóttir, George Hollanders, Hildur Óladóttir, Pór Sigurdarson, Pórarinn Hjartarson, Steindór R Haraldsson, Professor Terry Gunnell, Wolfgang Frosti Sahr (scholars, musicians, artists, business owners)
