At its inauguration the Museum of Miniature received gifted works from Austria, Hawaii, Germany, Chile, Newfoundland, Ireland, Britain and Australia plus included the USA’s ‘John Erickson Museum of Art' guest curated by Annette Moloney. 143 artists contributed globally over 250 works which visual artists and co-curators Marie Brett and Tess Leak installed initially into a three story Georgain building for Skibbereen Arts Festival. Subsequently with the museum growning in size and proportion, Brett/Leak toured the museum to seven off-shore West Cork islands as a pop-up installation inside unusual settings including a military base, a pub and a cable car. The tour enabled partnerships with West Cork Arts Centre and West Cork Literary Festival with new creative responses from writers Rachel Andrews, Danielle McLaughlin and Denyse Wood, plus Zemwerk, a punk-noir theatre company based on Cape Clear Island with visual design by Oisin McGillion Hughes.
