Shadow Traders is an installation utilising discarded memorabilia, large quantities of coloured pigment and alter like platforms / shelving, exhibited at Triskel arts centre Cork.

Referencing a Kunstkabinett filled with unfashionable objects, smells and leftovers of private collections, the ongoing collaboration of visual artist Marie Brett and visual artist/ art therapist John McHarg conceptually explores Stephen Greenblatt’s writing on ‘resonance and wonder’ in creating artworks that proposition a recovery of contemporary resonance and potential wonder from unwanted, inert objects. Shadow Traders “engages audience participation amid the transience of shadows, where dream and memory contrive in somnambular tension.”
